Brevard Real Estate, From Someone Who Calls It Home

I’m Hesper Dickson, a REALTOR® with Howard Hanna | Beverly-Hanks Real Estate (formerly Beverly-Hanks Realtors) in downtown Brevard. I help people buy and sell homes in Brevard, Pisgah Forest, and throughout Transylvania County, and I’ve been doing it since 2004.

Born Here, and Back by Choice

I grew up in Brevard. I studied Housing and Interiors at Appalachian State in Boone, lived in Asheville for several years, and moved back home in 2001. I didn’t come back for the scenery alone. I came back for a town that stays lively all year, with restaurants and shops that stay open after the leaves fall and a community where people look out for each other. I see that every week as a volunteer and board member at Sharing House.

When you work with me, you get that local knowledge: which roads are hard to travel in winter, what living inside the town limits means compared with the ETJ or the county, and what to ask about wells, septic, and flood zones before you fall in love with a property.

How I Work

For many years I was part of a busy Brevard team, where I represented my own buyers and sellers while also writing contracts and coordinating closings for the team. That taught me where transactions tend to go wrong and how to keep them on track. My background in housing and interiors also helps me see how a home lives and what buyers will notice.

Sellers get thorough pricing based on the real market, marketing that presents the home well, and steady negotiation. Buyers get honest guidance on value, a clear sense of what they’re buying, and someone keeping every deadline and detail on track.

Now that I work independently, my clients get my full attention. I’m the one who answers the phone, writes the offer, and sees it through to the closing table.

Outside of Real Estate

You’ll often find me on my gravel bike, hiking the trails around Pisgah, or cooking something good at home. It’s a big part of why I love this area and why I enjoy helping other people find their place in it.
